Puri: Naga Sadhu Attacked By Jagannath Temple Police! Admitted At Hospital

Puri: A Naga Sadhu named Baishnab Puri was allegedly attacked by a Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) on the premises of the 12th Century Shrine on Sunday.

The Naga Sadhu reportedly barged into the Jagannath Temple and tried to sprinkle water after collecting it from the Rohini Kunda, a sacred well located inside the temple premises, which was closed for over a year due to the Covid pandemic.

A word of exchange ensued between the Naga Sadhu and a JTP after the latter banned the former from sprinkling water of Rohini Kunda. However, the Naga Sadhu alleged that he was attacked by the JTP. He is undergoing treatment at the Medicine Ward of the District Headquarter Hospital.

On the other hand, Puri SP refuted the Naga Sadhu’s allegation saying that none of the police personnel has attacked him. Besides, no complaint has been lodged over the issue.
