Puri: The newly constituted Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will hold a meeting at 11 am today. Reportedly, the meeting will be chaired by Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb.
The Chief Administrator, District Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP) and the new nominated members of the managing committee will attend the meeting.
The 10 members of the managing committee include Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, senior advocate of Orissa High Court (representing Mukti Mandap), Madhab Chandra Pujapanda (representing Pujapanda Nijog), Jagannath Kar (Montu Singhari) (representing Pushpalak Nijog), Madhab Chandra Mohapatra (representing Pratihari Nijog), Ananta Tiadi (representing Suar Mahasuar Nijog), Durga Prasad Das Mohapatra (Daitapati Nijog), Mahant Ramakrushna Das of Radhaballav Matha (representing Math & other institutions), Sarat Chandra Bhadra, Chartered Accountant, Padma Bhusan Dr Ramakanta Panda and Padmashri Sudarshan Pattnaik, sculptor.
A sub committee of various departments, within the new members, will be formed today. The management of Rath Yatra for ahead years will also be reviewed, said reports.
Besides, the construction of Srimandir’s heritage corridor, welfare of Puri sevayats and various development works will also be discussed in the meeting today. Earlier in February, the previous managing committee had given a green signal to the draft architectural plan and design of the Sri Jagannath temple heritage corridor project.
Till the last reports came in, it was said that Puri Srimandir Heritage Corridor work will begin from September.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra visited Puri to inspect various projects today and discussed regarding the disciplinary measures of the temple with District Collector. He also reviewed the Shree Setu Project, the parking project of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center.
Similarly, he also visited Puri Swargadwar and reviewed the developmental work.
