Puri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee meeting to be held today

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will hold a meeting at 11 am today. The meeting will be held at Srimandir Bhakta Niwas.

Reportedly, there will be a discussion on the revised expenditure estimate for the 2021-22 financial year and the budget for the 2022-23 financial year.

In addition, the proposed Gurukul Ashram School for children of Sevayats and a related MOU will also be approved, added reports.

It is pertinent to mention that, the Supreme Court has granted more than Rs 6 crore for the construction of the Gurukul Ashram. Besides, there will be discussions on the housing plans for the Sevayats.

Notably, an eight-member Odisha Assembly House Committee has been constituted to examine the work going on around the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri of Odisha under the Srimandira Parikrama project.

The Srimandir Parikrama Project or Srimandir Heritage Corridor Project is the ambitious plan of the Odisha Government to transform Puri into a World Heritage City. The project includes the creation of various amenities and infrastructure around a 75-metre radius of the Shree Jagannath Temple among others.
