Pulwama Attack: Odisha CM announces ex-gratia for martyred Jawan Pradeep Panda

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh and monthly pension of Rs 2,000 for the family of martyred CRPF Jawan Pradeep Kumar Panda of Rajgangpur of Sundergarh district.

The Chief Minister has saluted the martyred Jawan by calling him as “valiant son of Odisha” who will always be remembered for his heroism and supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

“Saluting the valiant son of Odisha, Pradeep Panda who laid down his life for the motherland. He was the pride of @crpfindia for his gallantry. The braveheart will always live in our hearts and inspire us with his heroism,” wrote Naveen on his Twitter handle.

Patnaik also expressed his condolence to the family of the martyred CRPF Jawan. “My deepest condolences for this tragic event. I share my deepest condolences to the members of his family and friends,” said the CM while speaking to the reporters today.

CRPF Jawan Pradeep Kumar Panda was among the five security personnel who were killed in the exchange of fire between Jaish-e-Muhammad militants and CRPF men at a paramilitary training camp in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on December 31, 2017.
