Pulwama Attack: CAIT observes nationwide trade bandh, markets shut in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Businesses across Odisha came to a standstill today following a 12-hour bandh call given by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) showing solidarity with the CRPF men martyred in the Pulwama terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir last Thursday.

As different traders’ associations in Odisha extended their support to the bandh, shops and other business establishments downed their shutters starting from the morning today. In the Millenium City commuters faced a tough time as plying of auto-rickshaws were also stopped by the auto association.

During the bandh observation which will remain in effect till 6 am in the evening, medicine shops and petrol pumps were kept open.

Strongly condemning the heinous attack by terrorists the CAIT has demanded strong action against the terror mongers from the government.

While at least 49 CRPF jawans were killed in Pulwama attack by Pakistan based JeM suicide bomber last Thursday, two Odias namely Manoj Kumar Behera and Prasanna Kumar Sahu were among them.
