Protest To Reopen Sri Mandir, Servitors Sit On Strike In Front Of Main Gate

Puri: A faction of the servitors of the Jagannath temple in Puri have started protest for the reopening of the temple. The strike has been started by the former President of the Suar Mahasuar Niyog, Damodar Mahasuar.

He has raised the issue of the huge gathering in the funeral of Pipili MLA Pradeep Maharathy. He has questioned as to why it was allowed amid rising Coivd cases.

He has also added that, Rs.5000/- that had been sanctioned in four phases by the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is not sufficient to meet the needs of the family.

As a solution he has suggested that doctors can be posted at all the four doors of the temple and only 50 people can be allowed to enter at one particular moment.
