Bhubaneswar: Outrage has continued to grow in Odisha over the cases of gang-rape and murder of women in the State as well as in Hyderabad and Uttar Pradesh. In this context, the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the saffron party staged a massive protest condemning the aforesaid crimes.

A large number of boys and girls gathered at the Lower PMG today in the capital city to protest against the increasing number of cases of gang rape and murder.

A few days back a minor girl was gang-raped inside a Police quarter in Puri. Shockingly, the main culprit of the crime, who was immediately arrested following the incident, is a former cop. He had been dismissed from his duty as a Police constable. The protesters have argued that cops, who should safeguard the citizens, have started to commit crimes. And thus, stringent action should be taken against them.
