Private bus owners’ association suspends bus services between Bhubaneswar and Angul, See details

Bhubaneswar: The private bus owners’ association suspended bus services from Angul to Cuttack-Bhubaneswar.

Reportedly, the bus services will remain suspended for 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm.

The association has suspended the bus services demanding repair work of National Highway-55. They have also threatened to boycott NH-55 from January 1 if their demands are not met accordingly.

Around 300 buses from Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Talcher have joined the strike.

According to the bus owners’ association, the condition of National Highway 55 from Sambalpur to Cuttack via Anugul has deteriorated. The repair work of the highway has been left incomplete. As a result, buses passing through this area are facing a lot of problems. Some buses get forced to travel on other roads to reach their destination.

Road accidents have increased due to the incomplete work of the national highway, the road mostly gets jammed due to which many people hesitate to use the path for travelling.

Earlier, the matter has already been discussed with the higher authorities and they had said that the repair work will be completed by December 22, 2021.
