Jagatsinghpur: Initiating action against the guilty cops in an undertrial’s escape from a local court premises here last Saturday Odisha Police today suspended at least two cops for dereliction in duty.
The suspended cops identified as Gourang Charan Roul and Sangram Kishore Rout remained deployed on duty when the escape took place. Both are working as Constables with Odisha Police.
The escaped untertrial namely Surya Singh had been brought to the court from jail for an appearance when managed to give the Costable duo a slip. Later, the authorities found the duo guilty of dereliction in duty following a probe.
