Primary teachers hit the street in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Thousands of teachers under the banner of All Odisha Primary Teachers Association (under new pension scheme) hit the street at Mahatma Gandhi Marg here on Thursday.

More than 50000 members of the teachers’ body staged the demonstration to press for fulfilment of three-point charter of demands.

Their demands include a basic pay of  Rs 5200 and increase of the grate pay to Rs 2800.

They have threatened to intensify their agitation if the state government fails to address their demands.
