President Kovind expresses concern for cyclone-hit Odisha, Andhra

Bhubaneswar: President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday expressed his serious concern for the people of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh affected by the very severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ that wreaked havoc in several parts of the two states.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Kovind wrote: “Thoughts with families, especially children, in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh who have affected by Cyclone Titli. Confident local authorities and relief agencies will rise to occasion to help fellow citizens. The entire nation is with you”.

He also wrote the same in Odia.


Notably, gusty wind and incessant downpour under the influence of very severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ caused widespread damages to properties in several districts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

While eight people died in Andhra Pradesh due to the cyclone, six persons were reported missing in Odisha’s Ganjam district after they were washed away by rain water caused due to the cyclone.
