Prem Chandra Chaudhary assumes charge as the new BMC Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: The new Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Prem Chandra Chaudhary today assumed his office.

A 2010-batch Odisha Cadre IAS officer, Chaudhary was appointed as the BMC Commissioner during a reshuffle which was effected by the State Government on June 21. A total of 33 bureaucrats at IAS and OAS levels were transferred in the reshuffle.

Apart from being the BMC Commissioner Chaudhary will also remain in charge of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) as Vice Chairman (VC).

Prior to being appointed as the BMC Commissioner, Chaudhary was serving as Kendrapara Collector. He was replaced by the outgoing Commissioner Samarth Verma.
