Nayagarh: A pregnant woman was carried on a stretcher for nearly one kilometre from Kanthipadar village in the district after ambulance failed to reach the village due to poor road condition.
The woman has been admitted at the Daspalla Hospital and doctors said that the condition of the woman is stable.
As per reports, the woman complained of labour pain following which her family members contacted the 108 ambulance service. However, the ambulance upon reaching the village could not reach the house of the woman due to the poor road condition.
With no other options left, the woman was carried on the stretcher by the family members and the employees of the ambulance service. The ambulance also took her to the nearest hospital.
“It was drizzling and the employees of the ambulance service showed extreme courage to carry her on the stretcher. We are thankful to them for their dedication,” said a family member of the woman.
