New Delhi: Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal was on Sunday discharged from the Indian Spinal Injury Centre in New Delhi.
Biswal was undergoing treatment in the centre since July 7. He was shifted to the New Delhi-based Centre after doctors at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack referred him.
Speaking exclusively to Kalinga TV, Biswal said, “I am feeling better now and will return to Odisha very soon and work for the people of my constituency.”
Notably, the legislator was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on September 19, last year for his alleged links with Seashore chit fund scam.
The Orissa High Court granted him conditional bail on June 26 and even permitted him to be treated outside the state.
Earlier, the Special CBI Court, Bhubaneswar and the District Judge and Sessions Court had rejected his bail pleas following which he had been remanded to judicial custody.
However, he was rushed to the SCB Medical and was undergoing treatment there after he complained of illness.
