Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Prasad Harichandan will continue as the President of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) till 2019 general elections, informed OPCC Discipline Committee Chairperson Sandhya Rani Mohapatra here on Saturday.
Mohapatra’s statement put an end to all speculations over change of guard in OPCC in recent future.
Since the AICC President Rahul Gandhi did not approve Prasad’s resignation from the post of state unit President, the later will continue as OPCC President till next general election, she said in a statement.
Prasad had tendered his resignation from the post of President of OPCC owning moral responsibility for the dismal performance of the Congress in Bijepur by-poll.
