Pranay Sahu files Nomination Papers for Bijepur By-poll

Bargarh: Congress candidate Pranay Sahu filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Bijepur by-poll in the district on Tuesday.
Accompanied by hundreds of his supporters, Sahu filed his nomination papers with the attorney general-cum-Padmapur Sub-Collector in the presence of many party heavyweights.
Keeping aside the intraparty fight, most of the senior leaders of the Odisha Congress including Prasad Harichandan, Hemananda Biswal, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Jayadev Jena, Srikant Kumar Jena, Suresh (Sura) Routray, Bapi Sarkhel and others came together and marched in a rally to the office of the attorney general after attending a public meeting.
On the other hand, BJP candidate Ashok Panigrahi and BJD contender Rita Sahu are seeking votes from the public with their senior and powerful party leaders.
Rita Sahu, the wife of late Congress MLA Subal Sahu filed her nomination paper yesterday while Panigrahi had filed his nomination papers on February 2.
BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik along with others will campaign for Rita Sahu.
Likewise, Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Smriti Irani, Radha Mohan Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav and Santosh Gangwar to campaign for BJP candidate Ashok Panigrahi.
The scrutiny will be done tomorrow while the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by February 9. Voting for the Bijepur by-election will be held on February 24 and results will be declared on February 28.
