Bhubaneswar: Police today served notices to actor Papu Pom Pom and the producer of Odia movie ‘Mr Kanhaiya’ Sitaram Agarwal in connection with the poster row. Police on Saturday has registered a case after the poster showed disrespect towards women.
Police said that both the actor and the producer have been asked to depose before the police within seven days.
The poster showed the actor holding ropes tied to the necks of seven girls. Several sections of people denounced the poster in the social media while people also demanded an unconditional apology from the actor and the production house as well. ‘Mr Kanhaiya’ directed by Ramesh Rout is set to release on September 2.
The actor and the production house has denied releasing any such poster. The actor has claimed that the poster has no relevance with the story of the movie.
