Polytechnic student commits suicide in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: In a tragic incident, a student of the Government Polytechnic College here allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside a house in Shantipada area of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased student has been identified as Chandrasekhar Behera, a final year diploma student of the institute.

According to sources, Behera’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of the rented house where he had been staying for the last few days. A rope was found being tied around his neck and the other end of the rope was tied to the ceiling of the house.

On being informed about the matter, Town police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the incident. However, they are yet to ascertain the exact reason behind the student’s death.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent to the hospital and his parents have been informed about the matter.
