Jaleswar: A police personnel from Balasore district of Odisha received immense admiration in lieu of his work as a Good Samaritan on Tuesday.
The cop made arrangement for execution of the last rites of a helpless man and himself shouldered his body during its journey to the cremation ground. The deceased is survived by only his 12-year-old daughter.
As per reports, one Shyama Murmu of Padasahi in Patharpura village under Jaleswar block of the district died on Tuesday. Apart from his 12 year old daughter, there is nobody else in the family.
In absence of any other relatives, the dead body could not be cremated while his helpless minor daughter was seen sitting near the body of her father. She was too young to get the final rites of her father executed. Also, nobody came forward to offer help for the funeral rites.
At this juncture, the Inspector in charge of Jaleswar Police Station Manas Kumar Deo reached the spot and offered to help.
With the help of volunteers from ‘Help for You’ Foundation, the cop got the last rites of the deceased executed. Even he himself was seen shouldering the corpse during its last journey. And for that the cop has got huge admiration.
