Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police conducted a raid on the city-based Utkal University here on Sunday.
According to reports, the city police with the help of the authorities of the University conducted a raid on the institution and evicted more than 60 non-students from Hostel No-7.
Sources said that the non-students were evicted following allegation by the University authorities. Several outsiders including ex-students of the varsity had been staying in the hostel even after repeated warnings from the university authorities, added the sources.
Four platoons of police force, meanwhile, have been deployed on the premises of the varsity to maintain the law and order situation.
