YB KhuraniaBhubaneswar: In its efforts to reach out to the masses as well as to let citizens voice their concerns over various law and order issues, the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar twin city Commissionerate Police held a police-public interface at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) auditorium here on Friday.

The meeting, chaired by Police Commissioner Yogesh Bahadur Khurania and attended by locals including senior citizens from localities like Chandrasekharpur, Chandaka, Nandankanan, and Infocity Police Station areas, took up traffic issues in this part of the city and discussed possible options to sort them out.

During their discussion with the senior cops present at the meeting, locals also raised the issue of deteriorating law and order situation in Chandrasekharpur-Chandaka-Nandankanan belt of the capital city and appealed to the police to do the needful before the situation slipped out of grip.

Assuring the locals to deal with the anti-social elements with an iron hand, Khurania said efforts are on to shift the Mendhasal outpost for better policing in the area. More police outposts would be set up in the city in the coming days to keep tabs on the movement of criminals, he added. As far as traffic issues are concerned, the Commissioner said it would be solved on a priority basis.
