Rourkela: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has seized Rs 2.23 crore cash at Rourkela railway station on Friday and detained three persons in connection with the case.
The arrestees are Rajan Shrivastav, Sanjay Gupta and Sunil Kumar.
Reports state the trio, who were travelling in a train, had looted Rs 3.14 crore from a businessman who was travelling in the same compartment. They were nabbed by the RPF constables who recovered the cash from them.
A criminal case has been registered against the arrested persons, who have been handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Rourkela.
Investigation in the matter is still underway. Efforts are being made by the officials to recover the remaining cash.
