Police Makes Elaborate Security Arrangement For FIH Men’s Series Finals

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police has made elaborate security arrangements for FIH Men’s Series Finals which will begin on Thursday at the Kalinga Stadium.

Police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that security of the players and match officials along with traffic control will be the priority for them.

“Around 60 CCTVs have been installed in and around the stadium area to monitor the movement of spectators. As many as 16 platoons of police personnel along with 75 police officers will be deployed for smooth conduct of the event. We have also beefed up security at the hotels where players and match officials will stay,” said Mohanty.

Police officials said that a meeting will be convened with the organisers and managers of participating teams on Wednesday to chalk out further security arrangements.

As many as eight teams will participate in the tournament. Pool A consists of teams of hosts India, Poland, Uzbekistan and Russia while teams of USA, South Africa, Japan and Mexico are placed in the pool B.

India will start their campaign on an opening day on Wednesday when they will take on Russia. The hosts will play their next pool matches against Poland and Uzbekistan on June 7 and 10 respectively.
