Jharsuguda: Foiling yet another robbery bid in the State, police busted a dacoit gang and arrested at least three persons from Hilltop colony in Brajarajnagar area here last night.
The held members of the gang have been identified as Gudu Singh, Shyam Sahis and Purna Sagar. All are residents of Rampur area.
Acting upon a tip-off on the presence of a dacoity gang run by one Sonu Ghosh, Brajarajnagar Police raided their hideout late last night. During the raid the gang was seen hatching a plan for the next robbery.
While in a bid to escape from the spot the gang members opened fire at the police team, cops managed to capture three of them. Four others succeeded in their attempt.
Police also seized a pistol, a few live cartridges, and sharp weapons from the possession of the held persons during the raid.
While interrogation of the held criminals is underway efforts are on to nab their absconding aides.
