Police Establishments Incur Loss of Rs 4.6 Crore in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Various police establishments in Bhubaneswar including police stations bore the brunt of cyclone Fani which made landfall on May 3.

As per preliminary estimation, police incurred a loss of Rs 4.6 crore in the state capital only. Police said that the 7th Battalion campus was the most affected which suffered a loss of Rs 1 crore.

Similarly, Chandaka and Balipatna police stations witnessed damage of property during the cyclone while several glass panels of the Commissionerate Police building were also damaged.

Police said that the cyclone has damaged as many as 48 CCTV cameras installed at various traffic posts in the state capital. Police had earlier installed 128 CCTV cameras in the city under the CCTV surveillance system. Senior police officials said that the damage assessment report will be soon submitted to Khordha district collector.
