Cyclone Fani: Police DG Visits Puri to Take Stock Of Relief and Restoration

Puri: Police DG R.P Sharma today visited cyclone affected Puri district and reviewed the progress of distribution of relief and restoration of communication, water and electricity supply in Puri which was the most affected in the cyclone.

Sharma during the visit directed concerned officials to ensure proper security relief materials during transit from Bhubaneswar to Puri and other destinations.   He also directed to give adequate police security at all relief distribution points along with stringent action against anti-socials indulging in the loot of relief materials.

Sharma also inaugurated the ‘Karuna Camp’ organized by the police personnel for distribution of free cooked food for the general public.  Later Sharma declared that similar camps will also start functioning from Bramhagiri, Satyabadi, and Pipili from tomorrow with the facility of free cooked food for a week.

Sharma today also took a review meeting in Bhubaneswar about the progress and status of post cyclonic relief distribution and restoration work in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Cuttack rural and Jagatsinghpur.
