Cuttack: Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty donated blood at a blood donation camp at Acupressure Treatment Centre in Barabati stadium here on Sunday.
Apart from inaugurating the camp, Mohanty donated blood during the blood donation camp which was organized by the Cuttack unit of Youth Hostels Association of India in collaboration with Commissionerate Police.
“I am delighted and proud that I am the secretary of Cuttack unit of Youth Hostels Association of India. The Red Cross society of Commissionerate Police has by now collected about 7, 600 unit blood this year. Many NGOs are supporting us and adding one more feather to our cap, this year we have achieved first position in the summer camp in Odisha”.
“As our (Commissionerate Police) motto says, “We care, we dare”, and we actually do care and dare to do everything possible for our people. You will be glad to know that at least 1000 thalassemia patients have been given help who now depend on us for the blood supply”, he added
As many as 84 volunteers donated their blood during the blood donation camp.
