Bhubaneswar: Jatni police busted a gang of dacoits near an educational institute and arrested six members on Friday night.
Police have seized sharp edged weapons, three motorcycles and an autorickshaw from the gang members. The accused have been identified as Sk Farid (26), Sabir Khan (22), Krushna Behera (25), Sk Azimuddin (34), Susanta Sundarray (28) and Amiya Ranjan Parija (20).
Police said that the gang was busted while the accused were planning to commit dacoity from running vehicles on the National Highway 16. “The gang was involved in a number of robbery and dacoity cases in Bhubaneswar and outskirts. We are further verifying their antecedents,” said a police official.
