Cuttack: In a blot on ‘Khaki’, cops arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police in an alleged sexual assault of a Class 6 student in Salipur area in the district on Monday.
The accused black sheep has been identified as Krushna Chandra Jena. Krushna works as an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) at the Mahanga Police Station.
The incident which took place on last Saturday came out only after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at Salipur Police Station yesterday. As per the complaint, the accused in whose house the victim has been residing since last five years, committed the crime in the absence of her parents.
“Krushna Chandra barged into our house at around 10 AM in the morning on March 3 when I was out with my husband in some work and my daughter was alone. He sexually abused the minor and fled away. After we came to know about the incident and inquired Krushna’s younger brother Bismit about it, he threatened us to eliminate. He also warned us to implicate a false case of theft if we disclose the matter,” reads the FIR.
While the accused ASI has rubbished the allegation, he has been forwarded to court after arrest.
