Udaygiri: By cracking the Chheligad siblings suicide case of September 28 in which two sisters had killed themselves over a failed marriage proposal, police today arrested the father, mother and a brother-in-law of the victims.
Informing on the arrests and making a startling revelation R. Udaygiri SDPO Anil Kumar Pradhan said, the deceased duo had been forced by their father and the main accused Pramod Achari ahead of the suicide. Pramod’s wife B. Rajeshawari and his fourth sister’s husband Ganesh Sahoo were also taken into custody for abetting the suicide, he added.
As per the report Pramod has confessed to the crime during interrogation by police and has admitted that he forced his daughter duo to consume poison after a proposal for the elder daughter’s marriage failed recently.
Notably, the bodies of Kiran Achari (22) and her younger sister Swapna Achari (18) was seen floating in the well located near their house on the day of the incident. The duo’s father in his reaction to media over the incident suspected that they might have committed suicide due to a failed marriage of Kiran. He also pointed at the role of some relatives in the incident, at that time.
