Cuttack: In a shocking incident, an inmate was found hanging in her hostel room in Udaynath College of Science and Technology here last this morning.
The deceased has been identified as a Plus III First Year Commerce student and a resident of Niali area of Cuttack district.
The death came to light after the deceased didn’t open the door of her room till late this morning and some hostelmates opened it to recover her hanging from the ceiling. They immediately called up the hostel superintendent and informed about the matter.
Later, police rushed to the spot and seized the body for autopsy.
While the exact cause behind the death of the girl is being ascertained, classmates are suspecting that she might have committed suicide to get rid of study pressure.
