Chandbali: Tension ran high among the students at Mato Sibashankar Higher Secondary School as irate students of the institute staged a demonstration demanding an exemption on the tuition fees.
Hundreds of + 2 students of the institute staged a dharna in front of the college demanding a waiver of tuition fees. They demanded a ban on the tuition fees as their parents wouldn’t be able to deposit the fees during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The protesting students claimed that the school authorities were demanding Rs 800 each as tuition fees. However, they had reportedly requested the school authorities to ban the tuition fee due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They had earlier submitted a written memorandum to the principal of the college in this regard. However, as their request went unheard, the +2 students of the school staged the demonstration today.
As the authorities mishandle a lot of money in the form of tuition and admission fees, there has been no significant development in the school. So, we request the authorities to slash the tuition fees, the students said.
There will be a mass demonstration if the authorities continue to demand fees, the students warned.
