Puri: Hundreds of workers of both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) gheraoed the Pipili police station in Odisha’s Puri district on Friday.
Workers of both the political parties gheraoed the police station reportedly following a face-off during a political campaign at Rayagarpur village of the district.
It is to be noted here that BJD has nominated Rudra Pratap Maharathy as Party Candidate while BJP has announced to field Ashrit Pattanayak for the by-election.
Likewise, the grand old party Congress has named Ajit Mangaraj to contest the by-election, the voting of which is slated to be held on April 17 and results will be announced on May 2, 2021.
