Puri: Pinaki Mishra from Biju Janta Dal (BJD) beat Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra by a margin of 11714 votes in the results of 2019 elections declared on Thursday.
Puri’s sitting MP Pinaki Mishra had won convincingly back in 2009 and 2014 but was given a tough fight by Sambit Patra this year.
The Puri seat saw a voter turnout of 74.01 per cent in the 2014 parliamentary polls while in 2009, the constituency registered 68.85 per cent turnout during polling.
