Pharmacist held by Vigilance in disproportionate assets case

Baripada: Continuing with its crackdown on corrupt officials in the district, Vigilance Department arrested a pharmacist after conducting a raid on his house in Tulasi Choura area here today for amassing disproportionate assets (DA).

The accused pharmacist has been identified as Sandeep Pati of Rangamatia Community Health Centre.

As per the report, acting upon a complaint against Pati, separate teams of Baripada Vigilance unit conducted simultaneous raids at Pati’s parental house in Baripada, three-storied residence in Tulasi Choura area in the city and office at Rangamatia CHC in the morning.

During the raid the anti-corruption wing officials seized several vital documents, bank passbooks and Rs 60,000 in cash.

The three-storied building owned by Pati would alone cost over Rs 1cr, informed officials.
