Baripada: Tension ran high in Karanjia area as a petrol pump situated near National Highway-49 reportedly dispensed water diluted petrol.
Some people reportedly went to the Reliance Petrol Pump which is situated under Karanjia Police Station limits in Mayurbhanj district to fill fuel in their vehicles yesterday. However, they created a ruckus on the spot after finding water in the petrol.
Chadeibhol Police outpost in-charge along with Karanjia Police Station IIC Ranjan Kumar Sethy soon rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection. They also pacify the angry people who demanded stringent action against the owner of the filling station.
However, the irate people demanded the closure of the petrol pump till the completion of the investigation.
On the other hand, the employees have agreed that water diluted petrol is being dispensed as there is some leakage in the petrol tank.
