Bhubaneswar: The Petrol and diesel prices have increased for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, thanks to volatile crude oil prices. While petrol went up 60-75 paise, diesel was hiked by 60-75 paise in all major cities including the capital city here in Odisha.
With the fresh increase, a litre of petrol here now costs Rs 69.01 from Rs 68.76 per litre rate of Sunday, while diesel is now priced at Rs 68.67 per litre as compared to Rs 62.27 yesterday.
Besides today’s hike, petrol and diesel were hiked on January 7, January 10, January 11 and January 12 and January 13 this year.

While petrol and diesel prices have been increasing steadily in this year, the people are now showing anger on the government and it will be a major factor in 2019 polls, said a consumer.
