Bhubaneswar: People made beelines at non-veg markets across the state to buy fish, chicken and mutton to relish non-vegetarian foods on the occasion of Chhada Khai today.
Though the prices are bit higher in comparison to those of normal days, people do not hesitate to buy as the Chhada Khai this year has fallen on Sunday, which is said to be a perfect occasion to enjoy non-veg foods.
In order to meet the surplus demand, the shopkeepers have ordered fish, chicken and mutton from different places like Kolkata, Digha, Udala, Pipili, Jashipur, Soro and Baghamari.
People had abstained from non-veg foods to observe the auspicious Hindu month of Kartik which came to an end yesterday.
