It is worthwhile to mention here that Soumya and Reema Sahu had married on February 18. Five days later, they received a parcel as marriage gift, which when they opened, exploded. But, later she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Reema was discharged from the hospital on April 12.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Odisha Crime Branch, which is probing the case is yet to trace the parcel sender even after two months of the incident. The probe team had visited Raipur in Chhattisgarh and grilled the owner of the Sky King Courier service and got to know that the wedding gift sender was communicating both in Hindi and Odia. Besides, it had grilled the deceased bridegroom Soumya Sekhar’s relatives. However, the police are still clueless of the accused.

Reema and Sekhar’s parents had even urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and demanded the arrest of the parcel sender.
