Patnagarh wedding gift blast accused Punjilal Meher taken to Raipur for spot verification

Balangir: The Odisha Crime Branch, which is probing the much sensational Patnagarh wedding gift blast case, is not leaving any stone unturned to collect evidence against accused Punjilal Meher, the English lecturer of Jyoti Vikash Junior College at Bhainsa. It has taken Punjilal to Raipur in Chhattisgarh from where he had sent the killer parcel bomb through Skyking courier.

According to reports, two teams of the state Crime Branch have taken the accused to collect more evidence in the case.

The probe agency has, meanwhile, sent the letter which Punjilal had written to the Balangir Superintendent of Police (SP) to the Gandhinagar-based Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). The fingerprint of the accused will be verified through the ninhydrin technology in the CFSL.

Apart from interrogating Punjilal during his second phase five-day remand, which began from today, the CB is slated to conduct spot verification. The Crime Branch has decided to videograph entire investigation during the second phase of Punjilal’s remand.

On the other hand, the family members of the newly-wed deceased Soumya Sekhar Sahu alleged involvement of others in the crime.
