Bhubaneswar: A passenger bus caught fire in Baramunda area of Bhubaneswar after an accident took place near the over-bridge on Monday.
According to sources, the passenger bus, bearing registration number OD 03 C 2588, was en route to Bhubaneswar from Phulbani. The vehicle lost its balance over the wheels and collided against the bridge near Baramunda bus stand.
After the accident occurred near the over-bridge, the bus caught fire due to a short circuit. Although, the passengers were evacuated from the vehicle through the fire exit window. However, four passengers sustained injuries. On getting the information, the local fire fighters arrived at the spot and doused the flames.
The injured passengers have been admitted to Capital Hospital, Unit-6 for immediate medical treatment.
