Pakistani Hindu pilgrims visit Puri

Pakistan pilgrimsPuri: A large number of Hindu pilgrims from Pakistan on Saturday reach Puri to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath and explore the Hindu culture in India. They are staying at the Puri Govardhan Peeth in the holy city.

As many as 94 pilgrims from Sindh province in the neighbouring country have arrived in India with the help of Santh Shada Ram darbar to visit various Hindu pligrimage sites in the country.

At the Govardhan Peeth, the visitors attended a preaching ceremony delivered by Jagadguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.

“We are blessed to arrive in Puri and listen to the preachings of Jagadguru Nischalananda Saraswati. The revered Guru explained to us how India ia practing unity in diversity. He asked us to practice and preserve the age-old hindu culture,” said Bhiman Das Gyani, a visiting devotee.

“We will take back a great memory of peace, love and fraternity from Puri. We have no problem practising our religion in Pakistan and we feel blessed to be here in India,” said another devotee.

Before coming to Puri, the Pakistani pilgrims had visited religious shrines at Haridwar and Varanasi. They will now visit Raipur in Chhattisgarh to attend the Sant Shada Ram birth anniversary.
