Koraput : Paddy worth lakhs was reduced to ashes after fire broke out at a threshing yard in Maliguda village under Pattangi block in Odisha’s Koraput district on Monday.
The incident took place at the threshing yard of one Radhamani Guntha in the village at around 3 PM today. The fire engulfed at least five stacks belonging to three farmers to reduce those completely into ashes.
While radhamani lost two paddy stacks in the fire mishap, while Dhanurya Guntha, Madhusudan Khilo and Ugra Khila lost one paddy stack each.
On being informed, Pattangi fire brigade officials rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
