Bargarh: Odisha DGP RP Sharma on Thursday informed that Padampur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Laxmi Narayan Panda has been transferred. Panda has been transferred couple of days before the Bijepur by-poll in the district.
Sharma said that the Padampur SDPO was transferred as per the directive of the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
“As of now, Panda has been attached to the office of IG, Northern Range, Sambalpur and the Police Establishment Board will decide his place of posting,” added the DGP.
Meanwhile, Khirasagar Nayak, SDRPO of Jharsuguda has been posted as the new SDPO of Padampur.
Notably, a delegation of BJP led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had on January 30 submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission of India (ECI) in New Delhi demanding transfer of several government officials including Panda.
