Bengaluru: In an appealing incident, more than 2500 Odia migrants, who are stranded in Karnataka due to lockdown, blocked the Kamakshipalya-Magadi road today to press their demand for returning to Odisha.

The Pravasi Odias hit the street protesting Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao’s request for not to leave the city as work to resume soon.

After hundreds of migrant Odias queued up at different places to register themselves to return home, Rao, in a video message, appealed them yesterday to stay back in the city and begin their works.

He said that Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has assured Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik that Karnataka government will look after the migrants.

Meanwhile, the local police are trying to pacify the irate Odia migrants.
