Balangir: At least 10 minor students and a lady teacher of Sri Aurobindo Purnang Shiksha Kendra, located at Phasad village under Loisinga police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district, were injured after their school van carrying them overturned near Lasarpali village in the district on Thursday afternoon.
The injured were rushed to the Santha Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (SBBMCH) here for their treatment.
The lady teacher, identified as Nikita Pradhan, sustained injuries on her head. Her condition was stated to be critical, while the conditions of the injured students, aged around 8- 10 years, were stable, hospital sources said.
The incident occurred when the students were returning to their home after completing school hours.
Locals said, the vehicle veered off the road as the driver lost control of the wheel on the muddy slippery road.
A case has been registered against the driver at Loisinga Police station in this connection. The driver was at large when the news was filed.
