Bhubaneswar: The Khordha district administration has launched an eviction drive to remove encroachments in Sarua in presence of local tehsildar and police over alleged land grabbing by OTV.
Earlier, the villagers have alleged that the Company has constructed huge walls, houses and ponds on the land and are preventing the villagers from entering their farm land.
The locals have also added that, the Company representatives are forcing them to sell their hard earned land at throwaway prices.
Yesterday, the Odisha government had requested Crime Branch to start their investigation into the alleged land grabbing case against the Odisha lnfra Tech Pvt Ltd.
On October 1, an investigation was launched at administrative level after hundreds of people of Sarua, Jayamangal and Goudaput villages had held demonstration over land grabbing in the area by OTV.
The villagers on September 26 had gheraoed the Khordha Collectorate and sought interference of the district administration in the matter to make the area free from encroachment.
