Cuttack: The Orissa High Court staffs would have their summer vacation this year from May 21 to June 18, as per a notification released by the court on Wednesday.
The notification issued by the Registrar (Judicial) of the High Court has fixed May 27 along with June 3, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16 as the complete closure day for the court on account of public holidays. However, the court will function from 11 AM to 12 PM to take up all urgent Civil, Criminal and Company Act matters.
In another provision in the notificiation, the vacation court is also allowed to enlist pending cases only if a senior vacation judge allows for the same. Similarly, for pending jail criminal appeal and fresh criminal appeals the vacation division bench, the special division bench have been authorised to make hearings.
Special division bench judges SK Sahu and KR Mohapatra will hear the cases on May 23 whereas Justices SK Sahu and DP Choudhury have been given the same charge for May 25. Justices Biswajit Mohanty and SK Sahu would hold the proceeding on June 4.
