Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday granted conditional bail to industrialist Mahimananda Mishra alias Mahima Mishra in the Press Chhak bombing case and Tarinigada firing cases against two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each.
The court also directed him not to influence any of the witnesses and cooperate in the investigation.
Notably, a bomb was hurled at lawyer Abhay Bhatt near Press Chhak here on September 21, 2013. Criminal Ganesh Sahu, during interrogation, had reportedly told police that the bomb was hurled under Mishra’s direction.
Similarly, miscreants had opened fire on two youths at Tarinigada in Paradip in May, 2016, following which, both the victims sustained severe injuries.
Mishra was arrested and sent to Choudwar jail in connection with both the cases.
