Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials on Wednesday raided the house of Odisha cadre IAS officer Vinod Kumar in Nayapalli’s VIP Colony here to arrest him, but failed as the officer was not present in his house.
The anti-corruption agency’s move to nab Vinod Kumar came a day after the Special (Vigilance) Court here convicted him and five others in the Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) scam.
The court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Vinod and four others who were not present in the court during pronouncement of the judgment yesterday.
The senior bureaucrat was the Director of ORHDC when the scam of Rs 55 lakh (financial irregularity) took place in 2000.
